The Only Known Worldview That Guarantees Hope
Everyone has a worldview. Worldviews are formed by presuppositions, upbringing, culture, education, media, pictures and even computer console games. Worldviews are not always formed purposefully; they may actually be soaked up by osmosis from the culture around us. Many would be unable to protect what they think concerning the meaning and purpose of life; their worldview is a mesh mash of their experiences and the influences around them. On the other hand, the Bible worldview is a learned and based on what Scripture teaches, and is the sole worldview that guarantees hope . It is based upon these seven truths:
- God exists (Heb. 11:6)
- The Bible is God?s divinely inspired Word (2 Tim. 3:16)
- God made everything that exists (Gen.1:1)
- God holds everything together (Col. 1:17)
- God came to earth and lived in the body of Jesus Christ 2,000 years ago (Col. 1:19).
- In the Garden of Eden Mankind chose to rebel against God and due to that act of rebellion, sin and death entered the world (Rom. 5:12-14).
- Believing in Jesus Christ is the sole way to have eternal life or to be reunited ?with Our Lord God (John 3:15-19, 5:24), (Luke 8:21, John 3:20, John 14:21, 23-24), (Acts 4:10-12).
God Exists
Whether Gods exists or not in the mind of an individual is the base for all other presuppositions that compose a world view. If there is no God in somebody’s mind, the random choice or natural selection speculation of Darwin is the sole other alternative. Since natural selection gets rid of any higher authority with nobody to be accountable to, then there are no fixed points, no morals, nor any wrong or right and nothing really matters, so only meaningless and despair.
A Biblical world view is based on the evidence that God exists, and the evidence of his presence can be seen all around us:
- In the intricacy of earth?s self sustaining design; perfect in each way to meets life?s wants along with the perfect size and supporting functions of the moon.
- In the universe. The universe had to have a beginning. Who started it and who supports it with an unwavering set of laws?
- In the human body: The DNA code informs, programs a cell’s behavior with laws that are definite perfect.
- In his revelation within us: H e pursues us and creates Devine data inside us of his existence. We are innately beings of worship, regardless of whether it is God we decide to worship.
- In his son: More than another way God exposed himself through his son Jesus Christ.
The Bible is God?s divinely galvanized Word to mankind
All scripture is given by inspiration of The Lord God, and is rewarding for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: (2 Tim. 3:16)
In 1,000s of years the Bible has yet to be proven wrong. Yes, there were instances when science or historians presented reasons explaining why the Bible couldn’t be true scientifically or historically, but their reasons have been shown to be wrong in time. God created all things
In the beginning God made the heavens and the earth. (Gen.1:1)
?For by him [Christ] all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. He’s before all things, and in him all things hold together. (Col. 1:17)
There are two ideas for creation: creationism as indicated by Gen 1:1 and Col. 1:17, and random selection. Both must be accepted by faith because there aren’t any human witnesses for either. There are 2 Problems. With creationism there are lots that won’t accept the idea of a. Supernatural being with omnipotent powers to make a universe and all that it contains. With evolution it’s the problem of accepting something that goes against all reason or logic, but since it’s the only alternative aside from accepting God, many say they accept it whether or not they really do or not. With today advances in science many scientists do not accept evolution, but neither do they accept creationism. I suspect you could say they are kind of in limbo.
Even when a scientific law, the second law of thermodynamics, which proves that things left to themselves do not improve but denigrate, folks still are of the opinion that things do improve through genetic mutations and evolve from lower forms to higher forms. Nevertheless Science cannot explain how there are certain accurate, incontrovertible laws which control everything in the universe, including the body, when it’d be more practical to expect random selection to also be randomly changing without any stringent patterns.
God holds everything together
He’s before all things, and in him all things hold together. (Col. 1:17)
We know that all mater is made from atoms. Atoms are made up of a nucleus and electrons that swirl round the nucleus at great speeds. Though ideas have been presented as regards what holds these atoms together, it is a mystery.
Sir Isaac Newton was 24 years old when he discovered that all bodies of matter possess a mutual attraction, what we call gravity that makes things fall downward instead of up. That also keeps us from flying off the earth which is spinning thru space at a speed of just about 67,000 mph.
In Colossians 1:16-17 we are told that Christ is the gravity that holds things together, For by him [Christ] all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, apparent and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. He’s before all things, and in him all things hold together.
It is reasonably amazing that Christ is the power behind the universe which he made, and the power we call gravity, or whatever puzzle it is, that holds things together!
God exposed himself to us when he came to earth as Jesus Christ
For God was happy to have all his fullness dwell in him, and thru him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross . (Colossians 1:19-20)
Sin and death entered the world because Humankind selected to rebel against God
Death Thru Adam, Life Thru Christ:
Therefore , just as sin entered the world through one man, and death thru sin, and in this fashion death came to all folk, because all sinned.
To make sure, sin was in the world before the law was given, but sin isn’t charged against anyone’s account where there is no law. However, death reigned from the time of Adam to the time of Moses, even over those who didn’t sin by breaking a command, as did Adam, who is a pattern of the one to come . (Romans 5:12-14)
According to Scripture believing in Jesus Christ is the only way to have eternal life or to have a relationship with God.
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there’s none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved . (Acts 4:12)
Really really I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and won’t be judged but has crossed over from death to life. (John 5:24)
Jesus asserted, I’m the way, the truth, and the life, and no man cometh to the Father but by me. (John 14:6)
For with the heart man believeth unto goodness; and with the mouth confession is made unto deliverance. (Romans 10:10)
